Reading/Language Arts:

After working hard to prepare for ASK testing, we are moving back into our regular Language Arts Program. We will be working on Unit 5.

Math:

We will be working to understand the relationship of decimals, fractions, and percents. We will also be reviewing problem solving strategies, algebra, and geometry concepts and computation skills for ASK testing. Help us practice at home.

Social Studies:

We are learning about the Colonial period. We are developing understanding of the different lifeways in New England Colonies, Middle Colonies, and Southern Colonies. We are comparing towns and the role geography (location) plays in the economy of each region.

v   New England Colonies – Short growing season – Economy, lumbering, ship building, and whaling.

v   Middle Colonies – The Bread Basket – agriculture, wheat, + mills

v   Southern Colonies – long growing season – cash crop – tobacco, cotton, indigo.

Science:

We are going to have a comprehensive presentation of space.

Happy Mother’s Day!
