Manchester Middle School Principal Tom Baxter and his staff
said goodbye to 259 eighth graders at the middle school graduation ceremony on
June 17. The ceremony was held at Manchester Township High School, which will
be the students’ new home for the next four years.
Mr. Baxter welcomed the audience of parents, friends, and
family members telling them, "I am certain that each and every student is
prepared and ready in every way for the challenges ahead. We are all very
proud of them"
Student presenters for the ceremony were Ashley G. leading the
Pledge of Allegiance, Jonathan L. presenting the welcome address, and Emberle
L. presenting the farewell address.

The

Superintendent of Schools Dr. William DeFeo congratulated the
students for meeting the many challenges they faced during their years at the
middle school, including national events as well as the construction project
at the school. He also told the audience, "Thanks to you, the residents of
Manchester, these students will enter a completely new and renovated high
school with a new wing, new computer labs, science labs, a new TV studio and
more. They have many wonderful opportunities ahead of them."
Dr. DeFeo was joined by several Board of Education members and
Teacher of the Year Mrs. Toni Romano in the awarding of diplomas before Mr.
Baxter dismissed the class for the last time.
